That's cool.

Why is that cool? It takes far too long to make a move, I'm a fast chess player, don't like hanging around, especially for a computer.

what the hell is chess? :01:

chess
noun
board game: a game played on a checkered board by two players, each with 16 pieces representing a king and his attendants. The object is to capture (checkmate) the opponent’s king. Each player begins with a king, a queen, two bishops, two knights, two rooks or castles, and eight pawns.

Exactly, puters are spose to be fast, I mean come on, if you were playing a game of chess in a park somewhere and every time your oponent went to move he quickly whipped a pen out of his pocket and started drawing all over the board, saying he was working out all your possible moves, you'd punch him in the face and call him a cheat :01:

I feckin would

Working out all of your opponents possible moves is a prerequisite for chess

Unless you like losing.

A computer shouldn't take that long tho' :P

@Darth..........Good point :ph34r:

@Manker........Ok bud, whatever you say :) , play 4 moves ahead, then you don't waste time think about moves that wont happen, therefore conserving brain energy and also luling your oponant into a false sense of security by being so quick to take your move, look ,think , play ,all in under 1 min :)

One minute is far too quick for a game of Chess.

That's crazy talk. Are you sure you're not talking about arm wrestling or something :music:

Jon L. Obscene
11-04-2004, 11:26 AM
lol, altho I still stand undefeated at arm wrestling :01: I do know the difference, believe it or not I got this lil bytter bean sized thing rattling round in my head and I'm sure it's useful sometimes :)

1 min is not too fast unless you're a geek who has to sit there thinking about what sock suspenders to wear to the star trek convention instead of focusing on the game at hand

I'm no expert on chess but don't the world's greatest chess players take a lot longer than one minute to make their moves?

DanB

Some don't. You can play speed chess but I tend to find you are more prone to make mistakes
