Hi!
I'm looking for a way to disable completely the "thumbnails" view in windows xp.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to disable the caching of thumbnails, I want to kill it completely.
Does any one knows a way to do that? :helpsmili

[Start] [Run] [Regedit]
Registry Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Explorer\Advanced
Modify/Create the Value Data Type(s) and Value Name(s) as detailed below.
Data Type: REG_DWORD [Dword Value] // Value Name: DisableThumbnailCache
Setting for Value Data: [0 = Disabled / 1 = Enabled]
Exit Registry and Reboot
If you disable it isnt it killed then

That just disables caching, IKE.
I'd like the view to disappear completely.
Maybe my previous post wasn't very clear...

Why
just change the view mode,

I changed the view mode, but f*cking windows won't remember the settings.
I don't like thumbnails cause it slows the system each time I open a folder.
Plus I don't want to let a piece of software have the last word!
