I'm new to Azureus. Can somebody give me some advise on how to get the best download speeds. I'm on a G4 with T1.

Is Azureus better than "Tomatoe Torrent" or just plain "Bit Torrent" on the Mac.?

It can only connect to as many seeds/peers as are on a given .torrent, just like any other Bt client..

of course, its all just a matter of taste........

azureus is from sourceforge...... and just about everything that comes from there is good (IMO open source nearly always beats paid software)...... i myself love it

Meh. No-one likes ABC anymore, I still use it and mostly get great speeds.

I've been tempted to try Azureus but ... I'm not sure it's worth all the effort

Although my router locks up once a month Azureus is the best one out there. :)

Definately Azureus. Don't know what possessed them to make it Java based tho :whistling

If it would be the azureus only,
but you'll need teh JRE to run it.

I dunno, I've got Torrentstorm, seems to work still, somehow.

No it does not 'blow it away'..and they are not 'similar' ABC (http://pingpong-abc.sourceforge.net/download.php) is easier than Azureus to install and does everything you need a Bt client to do...

ALSO: I Desperately Looking for "CSI Miami Eps!!!" PLEASE :(

I just started watching CSI Miami recently. It's an awsome show. I don't like the Original "CSI" (Vegas) and the "New York" version really sucks. The way they solve cxrimes is downright STUPID!
Anway...
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHERE I CAN FIND "CSI MIAMI" EPISOIDS OF SEASON 2.

Or does anyone have a copy of:
Season 2 Episode
# 2x17-MONEY FOR NOTHING

(I have the Season 1 DVD set. (and I've downloaded)
(all of Season 3 Episodes so far.)

NOTE: I WILL SHARE ANYTHING THAT I HAVE!

I have all OF Smallville-Season 1-4 IN DIVX FORMAT on the Mac

I found Azureus poor compared to other clients (ABC and G3). Very resource hungry, poor file allocation strategy, and slower downloads. Maybe I didn't have the best settings, but ABC works "out of the box". I'm also running Folding@Home, which may explain why a Java based client doesn't work too well for me.

G3 is a pain for restarting (seeding) completed torrents if you use any of the "Folder" options. They seem like a good idea initially until you find these problems. It is a bit buggy too (especially when resuming paused torrents) but I keep it because of the ability to download selected files.

You can download selected files in ABC 2.7.0 test build (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=88285&package_id=121020&release_id=259937)

I've used most BT clients. Azureus is up there, but my fav is... bitcomet. Its got everything u need & its not a resouce hog like most other clients, good speeds etc... From my experience:

1)bitcomet
2)azureus
3)abc
4)g3

Try all of them & see which u prefer. enough said.. ;)

Forgive me, I understand mostly eveyrthing but I never understood ports and such. How would I forward my port to make it faster and how would I know which port to use?
