Probably the usual problem of codecs. Make sure you have a good codec pack installed such as K Lite Codec Pack 2.01 (http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/mirror.htm#kazaa) or SLD 1.5 Pro Beta 6 (http://216.239.39.120/translate_c?hl=en&u=http://www.skynet.levillage.org/EN/downloadbetas-EN.htm&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsld%2Bvideo%2Bcodec%2B1.4%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3DUTF-8%26sa%3DG). Also are using a decent player such as BS Player, Zoom or Core? Avoid using Windows Media Player, as it's crap for DivX/Xvid encoded films.
