what is a MPC file

Hi there i have downloaded a music album off bit torrent and its come through in MPC format can anyone tell me what this is as i cant copy the files to win media player to copy as it wont let me? Can anyone help?

I found:
.mpc - calender file (MS Project)

are all files .mpc ?
