Works great. Opened it up, put some tape on the little things that detects if its been open, closed it, loaded swap magic, loaded GTA SA. :01:

The damn tape wouldnt stick. I thought of using superglue to hold down the tape and it worked. Plus im sure ill be able to remove it later if i need to. This is so easy to use too :1eye: <--- even this guy could do it.

Anyways, Agent... I got that Comcast upgrade too :D

4 MB/s down now

ConsoleSource (http://www.consolesource.com/ecomm/customer/product.php?productid=1581&cat=&page=2)

Damn, I should have takin some pics of the little thing you put tape on.

You know the original playstation. How it had the little tab in the back that let it know if it had been opened, well that what you tape over so it stays down.

I dont wanna open it up cause those screws were a b**** to take in and out without striping.

When you get it, it comes with instructions on how to use it. You dont need it if you have one of the new PSTwo's though.

Congrat! wish i had one but i'd be careful from what i've been hearing the lasers in those things are worse then the first batch of ps2s at launch... The "pstwo" laser just dies no DRE's or anything just a complete fried laser. Some people are saying sony made a mistake and theres to much voltage going to the laser which is causeing them to fry but who know an good luck with yours

SingaBoiy
11-10-2004, 05:28 PM
I went to Bestbuy, they didnt have it, 3 Gamestops, a Gamecrazy, and Target and they all didnt have it. Then I went to Circuit City as a last chance before I gave up, they had a ton of em.

This is the same thing that happened to me when I first got Socom 1. CC had a copy of it though :)

Livy

dont know any of the places, game said about 2 weeks to get one, and gamestation said about a month as they have 28 people on there waiting list, and only get in 8 a week. everywhere on the net is sold out too.

the guy from game said sony stops making there consoles for a bit at this time of year.

yes the ps2 detects something is wrong when both the sensors are blocked and it locks the machine

to be honest .......... no. There is something fishy about these 2 internal switches, im 100% sure that leaving them in the closed position for a long time tells the memory that something is not right. And to be honest, if it was this easy to foil Sony, why would they bother ....... At present im sure the only way around it is to chip

you will be fine if its normal

maybe its only for ntsc machines though

That would be the dumbest thing for sony to do. So if I left my pstwo closed for extended amounts of time, it would lock up? That would piss off so many people. And im sure there have been people using SM with it since it first came out. None of them are seeing any problems.

read for yourself, i personally would prefer the new version

but maybe it senses different games are being played while the lid is closed or something

read through this thread and u will see what im talking about

That guy didnt know what the person from ps2newz was talking about. He said "troublesome games". By that he was refering to those that need some sort of swapmagixfix (http://www.swapmagicfix.com/). The system may or may not lock up when only the back censore is covered. Works perfectly fine with both covered.

And I am thinking the people that cant even get any games to boot arent restarting their system. The game wont start up automatically unless you do so.

scribblec
11-12-2004, 05:06 PM
so what about the ps2's that have stopped playing orignal games?

if my ps2 dont arrive today i might just get the new small one

SingaBoiy

Still need to restart it for it to auto boot. I say go for the small one.

singa, how is your ps2 now? i sold my ps2 a long time ago, and so tempted to buy the new slim design one. i'm sure im going to mod it this time because seeing "ps2" under games at suprnova is too tempting. i dont want to fuck it up if im going to be getting one. The method seems easy enough, just want to know if you had that problem with the superglue thingy

SingaBoiy
11-27-2004, 10:33 PM
Nope, still working great. Im suprized the lens is go doing soo good being exposed and everything. We got alot of dust and cat hair floating about and its like it hasnt bothered it.
