View Full Version : getting a sound clip from a site?
How do I get one of these sound clips on my computer so I can turn it into a ringtone? The ringtone part I know how to do but how can I download one or all of those audio clips?

i opened the url you posted, rightclicked on it, selected view source
i saw the media was stored at flash/towelie.swf i added that to the base url of www26.brinkster.com/dkalim2000/ and downloaded towelie.swf with GetRight from www26.brinkster.com/dkalim2000/flash/towelie.swf
EDIT: someone else will have to tell you how to extract audio from shockwave files

edit: works too! Thx all
Good idea!
edit: works too! Thx allOkay, this worked but instead of the wav file being somewhere between 15kb and 100kb, it's over 2,550 kb's whichis to large. I've tried a couple of so called wav shrinkers but they were a joke. Any ideas anyone??
Also, the swf decompiler, that thing isnt making any sense to me. I think the audio has to be on your pc already in order to use this.

Cool Edit Pro 2.0 will convert it to what you want :)
5 meg wav can be converted to 200kb mp3 or less depending on how you set it :)

Jonno :cool:Thx Junno, but I need it remain as a wav. Any other suggestions? Here is a listing of some other ringers that I've gotten from a cd. The circled one is the ringer that I created and the one I want to shrink. It's 14 secs in length but the one right above it is 22 secs. Why is it so much smaller and how can I get mine that size?

Got it. It took some research and experimentation but that's okay. It can't always be easy. Thanks Junno
