So, my HDD which had something like 30k mp3's, mostly organised,
went tits up. Something about "Partition Table Data Corrupt".

Sucky, isnt it?

I'll be coming back to SS later this year or early next year, with a vengage.
Expect me to start PMing and Leeching my ass off when I get that far.
;)

Oh, and ppl please remember to back up your mp3's. I didnt.
Got my DVD burner a tad late.
In fact, I think the HDD got fuxord as I was installing the DVD and other
new hardware, I was moving stuff inside of the box and probably the HDD got
a one bumb too many on the process.
The HDD is rather old too, maybe it was its time to stop working.

So, laters taters.

:D

:D

Well, expect me to hassle more in this forum later on.

I was fairly happy with my colllection, I got pretty much all I wanted off SS.
Now it seems I need to start all over again.

It'll be fun.

I lost 40 gigs of music earlier this year and hadn't backup. (Twas partition error as well which sucks).

I've got back up to 40 gigs with the added bonus of all being better organised this time. Backed up everything on DVD now. And put the DVDs in a very safe place. ;)

Im planning to do what Withcheese has done.
I think I lost about 30GB atleast.

I have yet to try all the tricks known to filesharingmankind to restore
the data, but Im not very optimistic about it.

Some tools and approaches I've tried allready all says the same thing:
"Before repairing, fix the Partition Table"

Almost like the M$ support issues when one try to get the Network up:
"We was unable to determine whats the problem but send us eMail about it"

Or, "Here's a link to our database of errors & solutions --> www.mikro$soft.com"

Catch 22 or something.
