Recently, i posted a question, telling that my neighbour's wireless connection was dead and how i could re-use it.

Somehow, this wireless connection is working again. :applaud: I did not do anything, it just started working.

So my question is: before i start using this connection, what are the issues I should be aware of???? :hmm:

(1) Do I put of myself at risk for using this connection?
(2) Can the other person know that I am connected to his connetion?
(3) Can he know what I am downloading?
(4) How can he misuse my computer?

regards

I'd say SingaBoiy and 4play have already answered those questions (http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/showpost.php?p=908111&postcount=23).

(Mootar) morons.
(Mootar) these people who live in my apartment complex are connected to my wireless
(Mootar) they must think they're super-cool hackers by breaking into my completely unsecure network
(Mootar) unfortunatly, the connection works both ways
(Mootar) long story short, they now have loads of horse porn on their computer

;)

edit:

I wouldn't use others wireless network without a permission.
I think its just not cool.

Just get your own connection. Its cheap enough nowadays. If you're leeching off someone else you deserve everything you get :)

Its a bit different to steal the connection or download a mp3.
We're not suppose to be talking about hacking here.
This is filesharingtalk.com ,not networkhackin.com.

I wont help you on this.

What you're doing is pretty cheap, just get your own connection IMO.

he cant just delete stuff off your computer and you can set it up so he cant send you anything.

I would set up a network share for a laugh and put a few decent films and mp3s in there. leave a little note in there called readme and see if he/she is interested in sharing a bit of bandwidth for some decent files.

if i heard right, pennsylvania is the only state to make it agaisnt the law to use someone's internet connection without them knowing, not because they allow it in other states, its just that you know how slow lawmakers are to new technology

Its good to see that people still have some moral values left.

Well on a second thought, Bush is also slaughtering humans on the name of Moral Values. I hope your moral vlaues are not similar to his.

why dun u just talk to ur neighbour so u can share the cost with him?
wat ur doing right now is downright illegal and if he finds out, u better have the ability to disappear

Hope he finds out and kicks your ass. That's what I'd do if I found out someone was robbing me of what I'm paying for.

For all you know this guy has spent another xxx amount of money on the phone to his technical support because he can't get the speeds he is paying for.

Seriously, stop being so fucking cheap and buy your own connection, just like everybody else.

are you sure its downright illegal? depends where you live and since his neighbour seems to be offering up the connection to everyone at the momment (even though he has not given expressed permission) this is enough in plenty of countries to make it legal to hop on his network.

check the laws in your country before you start cracking other peoples netwroks it can get you into lots of trouble.

Personally, i wouldnt mind sharing my connection with others, i pay a lot of money every month and dont use the connection to its maximum capabiliites.

If you talked to the guy maybe you could both come to some kind of arrangement so you wouldnt have to leech. :)

if i found out someone within 100 feet of me had a pc and wanted broadband i'd be straight round. £12 a month each :01: just gotta try not falling out with each other about mega leeching
