Only if your using a older computer.

You mean modern computers are more ready for spyware?

The fullversion got spyware, including one of those annoying tool bars.

both versions include crapware. tho, you CAN choose not to install em ;)

and the only real difference between lite and standard is tabbed searches...

but yeah, it is a good prog with speeds that rival kazaa. i find it good for mp3's and such :)

well, ever since i had the problem with kazaa with service pack 2, ares has proven to be pretty good, so far, there hasn't been one messed up song file yet that i've downloaded from there......i don't like they're search engine though...but oh well......

I'm currently having problems connecting right now for that program.....do you?

I didn't like it either at first. I got used to it though.

It's connecting great for me. :)

Are there any guides anywhere to using Ares?
Ive been using it for a couple of weeks, and really like it other than the slow DL speeds. Ive been averaging only about 20kb/s, where as I used to see 200-300 w/ with others. I cant figure out anyway to speed this up. I have a 4000kb/s cable conn. I am behind a router/firewall. Could the port Im using be restricting the speed? (default port is 48671) There has to be a way to get this bandwidth up. Any suggestions or is this just as good as it gets.

Yeah, I saw that. I actually did goole before I posted this. Maybe we should try a Ares tuturiol section and see if anyone may give their input.

Doing great for music, nothing fake or corrupt yet, but very slow with movies. As I was stating above, 20kb/s is fine for mp3's, but not for movies. (unless you want to wait 2-3 days) I wonder if everyone I am connecting to is just that slow, I actually hit 70 kb/s on a movie yesterday.

Renamed files are already getting imbedded (ie-pornos) named as a legit movie. I DL Constantine and ended up with 2 guys on one girl. I havnt seen this movie yet, but I thought it had K. Reaves in it....

How can I increase bandwidth!!!!!??? I have it set to 0 (unlimited) but I know I can only DL as fast as others can UL. There has to be something.

are they files that are downloading, I noticed that. I think they are files you have already clicked on and they are bold when you leave and come back
