I use Road Runner. It's mostly okay, though the more people they hook up in this area the more I get booted sometimes, and I am capped at 275kbs.

Mostly good though.

I wish. I mean I get good speeds but it kills me when I see I could be 300+kbs and yet I top out. Oh well, still beats the horrid dial up I used to be on of course.

Well, I'm not sure if this will mean anything to you, but I use SIOL as my ISP.

No restrictions, I can download as much as I want, it's a 1024kbps/256kbps ADSL connection, costing me around 25 €/$ per month at a student rate.

The only drawback is that I get reconnected every 24 hours and it usually changes my IP too. I could ask for a static IP, but I would loose the option to have two sessions (two IPs) with a single account.

(Two sessions: I have my ADSL modem plugged in a LAN switch and two computers can connect at the same time, having different IPs assigned -> very useful sometimes).

Until I setup a Linux server as a gateway/router/firewall/ICS (or whatever you wanna call it) I'm stuck with 24 hour connection limit. After I setup that server, I'm getting a static IP and probably an improved ADSL package too, 2048/384 kbps or even 4096/512 kbps.

I currently have Comcast Cable, not sure what upload/download caps are in place but it has slowed down considerably since I began using it last year. I am thinking about switching to WOW (WideOpenWest), I can get digital cable for the TV and faster internet (1.5) with 3 IP addresses for a lot less than I am currently paying for regular cable TV and the 1.2 cable internet.

If anyone has good or bad info to share regarding WOW, I would be greatful to hear your remarks.

I'm on a 56K connection with a free ISP...

BUT, unlike the average free 56K connection. I'm connected with NO banners/ads, and I never get disconnected.

While the average 56K AOL user paids $20.00+ for internet. I have the same 56K speed (not much ), no disconnecting, no retarded AOL broswer, and I don't pay a cent to anyone. :)

Just to help you along the way bro:
ISP = Internet Service Provider

In other words whats their name and what kind of connection do you have?
ADSL, Cable, Modem etc.

Mine is of course from the Baker Street gas company.

Peace

I have Cox Communications, cable modem.
604kbps downstream(73 KB/sec)
117 kbs upstream
No cap(I've heard of anyways), never been warned about it.
Pay $39.99 per month.

p.s. Why pay for second IP address? Use a gateway(router or 2nd PC) for your main IP. Use it to create it's own subaddresses. No additional charge.
