Program To Open Word Docs

I want to open a word 97 document but don't have an office suite, so is there any program that'll open it (I'm downloading office xp, but it'll take 3 hours). Any ideas?

Wordpad, wont work, says it can't convert.

P.S: similar to acrobat reader can read pdf's but not make them.

I managed to get it working because when asking you "do you want to continue conversion" and then saying you can't is due to each image it tries to load. Solution: Keep clicking "yes".
