if you want to use them as regular icons i think you will need to ocnvert them to .ico files.

convert them to .ico files.I tried converting a .jpeg to an .ico once. I opened it in fireworks, photoshop cs, paint, but I could never get an option that would let me save it as an ico. Do you know of a program that will?

ok all, I've been experimenting
my desktop looks swwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeet
1 problem
I changed my icons to large....some of my icons look really cool large but others look blurry (Spybot, Emule and a few others)
any suggestions to fix this?

for the blurry ones you will want to find some better icons.
bigger, blown up versions, or entirely new ones.

1. change the size of the icons in the objhect dock preferences so they aren't so big or something...i dunno....maybe make them bigger? :unsure: :lol:

2. Right click taskbar>click "lock the taskbar" to unlock it>put mouse over a blank area of it then click and hold then drag to the top of the screen.

Those fuzzy ones are small icons.
you will neeed to get bigger versions of them or find\make new icons (that are large).


To remove the recycle bin just right click the desktop>arrange icons by...>then uncheck "show icons". :)
then it's easy to get them all back if u need them.

Yeah, Yeah...but I can't find anything for Call of Duty (black square w/ star) or the DVDShrink icon and I already replaced the NAV icon with a good one. You got anything useful?

Also, rebooted and the text thing fixed itself. Also had to configure it so the wallpaper I have set would load on startup. But now the fishies don't load on startup. You know how to fix that?

they're both too small...should be like 80x80 AT LEAST if you want to use them in object dock.

I've tried it 40x40 and 300x300 and everything in between. Why the heck doesnt it come out clear? I just don't get it. I just tried putting it on a transparent backgraound in PS CS since it is rectangular shaped and I'm trying to keep it from being resized, but I get this:

Ok. Everything is done!!! Finally figured it out. Who would have guessed it would be a good learning experience too.:lol:


The bottom two icons I made myself using a combo of Photoshop CS and Axialis Icon Workshop. The bottom one is for Call of Duty and the red one above is for DVDShrink.

Anyways, here is the completely, totally, finished product. :)

I opened the original images that I'd saved, in Photoshop CS. Used the lasso tool to select what I wanted, cut it, open a new window thats transparent, and paste the image. Saved them as a .psd. Opened them in Icon Workshop and created the icon, chose the size, etc. The DVDShrink icon worked best as a .png and the star as an .ico.

Heh...That was easy. I finally figured out why my fishies weren't coming up when I would start my pc. I created a shortcut and placed it in the 'startup' folder under the programs listing. Simple.:)
