..cant seem to maintain a constant speed while playing my music. There is an option for changing the speed, but I havnt messed with it until it started playing to fast. Having it set on "normal" plays a lot of the songs a little too fast. Its not my files because they play fine on other players. Anyone know what may be causing this, or how to default it..

I agree with much2pl

I use other players than WMP.

I had the version 10 on my PC but after are-install off XP,
I didnt install WMP10 at all.

I've heard/read there's some bugs about WMP.
This could be a DRM issue too.

Why on earth ppl want to play songs faster or slower?
And, does it actually hold the pitch while changing the Tempo?
I doubt it...

I got the thing on WMP Classic, and it wont hold the pitch, which kinda make the option
of changing the speed useless with Audio.
Works ok on Video thought, slow motion and all that...

it does a horrible job...sounds like shit. I do agree with the video, obviously they didnt spend much time on the audio. Sonic Foundrys Sound Forge is a great sound editor for things like that.
I think Ill give another media player a chance. So is the concensus voting for WinAmp here.....save me some trial time......

I actually like the library features of WMP, as they are superior to Winamp or any other player on the market. However for easy of use, and less use of system resourses, I would have to agree, winamp gets my vote.

I've actually tried a couple of other players and thay have done the same thing (playing too fast) they will play fine for a minute, speed up, slow down....etc.
Ive reinstalled the drivers for the integrated sound card on my mobo, and shut down the Vinyl Deck (sound mixer) and it seems ok for now....it started this after some windows XP updates....hmmmm.....compatibility issues me thinks!
