The Fix, Windows Install Clean Up

hxxp://support.M*cros*ft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301

I was very happy with Sygate Personal (freeware). Then an update to Sygate f'd up my Sygate & any subsquent install of Sygate. I tried the install of Sygate with the .msi extension. So any subsquent program using the .msi installer was a problem.

Googling the problem. I came across the Windows Install Clean Up utility. I was able to delete remnants of Sygate .msi from the registry with this neat freeware utility from M$. Had to remove my interim firewall Kerio (almost as good as Sygate btw) manually (ripped out of the registry tree).

Using my favorite quad of utilities: RegSeeker, RegCleaner, WinDoctor & TU2004. Now I'm back to using my favorite firewall Sygate.

To sum up this would NOT have been possible without Windows Install Clean Up utility. So anyone having problems with .msi files check it out.:P

One site I belong to automatically does this with the word Microsoft. And another allows no live links, and another etc etc. So I just do it this way so I can c&p it on other forums. Lazy. lol.
