Why can't my friend become a member?

There is a 100.000 users limit. When that number is reached we stop accepting new members. Accounts inactive for more than a few weeks are automatically deleted, so keep trying. (There is no reservation or queuing system, don't ask for that.)

Infact they ahve changed it now, its 180 days now. So you have to be inactive for 6 months to ahve your account deleated. Should check your info IKE:rolleyes:.

what's up with this?

We would also suggest our users to change their passwords since we found out today that a bunch of accounts got hacked. I will not say how but it would be wise for everyone to change password next time you logon.

Big surprise there, people are getting desperate.

When are accounts auto-pruned?

Accounts are pruned when 180 days have elapsed since the last recorded activity. (the "park feature" has been removed) Also note that we regularly clean out accounts with very low share ratios.

I cant see what the big fuss over Torrentbits is, ive been a member for 6 months or so, never d/l anything from there, Filelist and Phoenix are equal to Torrentbits.

the 'Seeder/leecher ratio (%)' is much better on TB then on FileList

Also, you should have something near 10MBit upload bandwith.

Thats one of the uploader criteria for Filelist

I got an account by popping in there every now and again, and just came up lucky. They do have some good stuff on there imo so worth it.

Someone suggested hitting the refresh button when you get the account limit message. I did, and it actually worked.

The problem with a high seeder/leecher ratio is that it is much harder to keep your U/D ratio. For example, something I'm dling now currently has a ratio of 13%. That seems pretty typical. Pretty good download speeds, but it means I have to seed it for at least another week to keep my U/D ratio even static. And of course that means that the next dl will suffer in the same way. Ah well.

Yup that worked for me also in about 10 minutes or so.

I must say I get almost max speed on all that dl Ive taken.
I got a 700mb in 30 minutes but its taking days to put it back...

I do it's not that hard just do a brute force attack on the login url and u'll be in in no time... Just make sure u use proxys so they can't report ur ip.

But I don't think ur allowed to go indepth about how to do it on this site. Plus we don't want a bunch of little script kiddies running around :)
Cracking passwords is kids play.

Anyone would know that brute force is the slowest method of hacking passwords. People usually use words not in a dictonary....and choose a mixture o 2 or 3 words.

lol, people will use the most obvious ones going...my uni have a thing which stops words and which stops things like sh03 being used, and people end up going to the helpdesk asking what they can use - they dont realise they can use random characters :)

Brute force is the fastest for me... cause most people don't know how to choose passwords. And brute force doesn't always just use dictonary words. And in my case i uses a custom word list that has most everything in the dictonary plus a shit ton of other combinations such as

Based on a~z,0~9 (36 letters)
A 6 char word has 2238976116 possibilites,
A 7 char word has 80603140212 possibilities,
8 char = 2901713047668
9 char = 104461669716084
10 char = 3760620109779060

so brute force is relatively ineffective here...best bet would be to take a common word and to then go through the user accounts, until you find one, then change their pass/keycode...

but then i wouldnt advocate this... and certainly not discuss it

Sure there are tons of possibilites... Thats why u use a program to auto scan thosands and thosands of passwords and user names per minute. let it scan over night u will have cracked at least 2 or 3 accounts.
