Hmm, I'm not sure if your usage of the term the antipodean is entirely appropriate here.

Given that you're actually talking to an antipodean - from our perspective - she may think that the euphemism to which you refer is a European one.

I know it is only a minor detail but you'll agree that one should take more than a modicum of care when conveying a message to the world.
