Winamp fading problem

ok ive been trying to fix this all day with no luck i like the fade option in winamp and i have all of them turned on including fade at end of song but everytime i close the options it always turns on crossfade and turn fade at end of song off http://forums.winamp.com/images/smilies/mad.gif could some1 help ASAP! thanks.

btw: it just started doin this today and never did before:angry:

Yes ive turned on crossfading but it fades into the next song before the one thats playing is even finished but i remeber before i never needed crossfade on for it to fade to the next song.:blink:

It sounds like you have the times on the crossfading set too high???
Theres a small counter so you can choose how many seconds of crossfade you want, its best to keep to 1-2 seconds or you will end up with your current problem.
Might be wrong but it seems like thats whats going on.

When its higher it fuckin runs into the next song i hate that fuckin shit i just want it to fade out to the next song properly and a little bit longer :dry:

The most important factor here is...what version are you using? If you're not using the latest (5.07), I suggest you upgrade, uninstall your old version and try that first. If you already have the latest version, uninstall it and clean up the registry etc.
I have 5.07 installed and the crossfading etc options work perfectly well.

Also, no matter what anyone says Winamp is easily one of the best media (and in particular audio) players available, no question about it. Whether or not you like/prefer it is a different issue though...

Thought it was already explained... the number next to the crossfade is how many of seconds of each track gets faded. So if they run into each other then obviously they are being faded for too long. By increasing the number all your doing is increases the fade time.

Simple method
higher = more fade
lower = less fade

i switched to music match after i had a crapload of problems with winamp

i find that it works a bit better

doesn't that kinda defeat the object of having a multifunctional audio player on your system?

Out of 1GB of ram on my PC, Winamp is using 14MB.

I'd still like to know what problems you have experienced with Winamp?

If it's anything such as:

Did not come with drinks holder...
Did not receive the ad / spyware that comes with most programs...

then I can't help you.
