View Full Version : If I was to buy a domain name for my website...

I'm toying with the idea of purchasing a professional domain for my site (or a free alternative that suits my needs).

What I want is a domain name that can include subdomains (pardon the possibly incorrect use of this term).

What I mean is instead of having just a plain domain name for my product (http://www.PRODUCTNAME.net), I'd prefer the company name/product. (http://www.COMPANYNAME.net/PRODUCT). I just want URL forwarding, meaning I don't need webhosting, just a service to link this fancy url to my current (free) webspace.

Where can I find a (preferably) free service that can do this? I don't care if it's not a .com or .net, just as long as there aren't two suffixes (like www.*****.free.site). It should look somewhat professional.

Thanks,
DSF

Check out dot.tk (http://www.dot.tk) that may be what you're looking for

I've already got a .tk domain for that site ^_^

I don't think it's capable of what I'm looking for.

You can buy a domain from Hostway for $6.95USD and just have it forward to your current url.

So if you buy something like www.myprosite.com you can have it forward you to your current url.
