Then why are you having problems with Nero when everyone else seems to run it w/o any problems? What version of Nero are you using?

Spyware and virus scans.
uninstall nero completely.

Clean registry.

Neither can compile audio or data discs because they are copying programs.
If you're experiencing lock-up or hang problems with the latest version of Nero then the cause is going to be somewhere else in your system.
Nero is the de facto CD/DVD creation/burning tool - it does everything and does it well.

I cant see anything wrong with nero..and isnt Alcohol 120% mostly for ISOs and Virtual Drives? I use nero, but if necessary,I keep a copy of Roxio at hand...I know it sounds n00bish but their CD copying prgm works better than Neros does

I have had problems with nero in the past. turned out nero was incompatible with updated drivers for my motherboard chipset. nero solution was use the bog standard windows version which where crap.

i would have a look around the nero site or forums for similar problems to your own and see if you can come up with why.

Well I aint used Nero in over a year at least as I just dont care for it though Im sure its ok mostly. I use Alcohol 120% for most of my needs and occasionally I use the standard Drag N Drop app that came with my pc which is very close to something like Roxio but even simpler that that ffs...

3 pages and a day later since the thread was started and you still don't tell us the verison you're using? Wtf.

Continue with the download. Don't forget to get CD2 so that you can install all the options.

Once done you can install it and give us your full report and evaluation.

Don't let them bother you. :)

Anyways I am using this version. It has some bug fixes plus some major changes on how the create cd box works. You can dl a version that is .0.3 version higher here (http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nero.com%2Fus%2F28956.php&btnG=Google+Search&meta=)

If you are really into cd-writting hard-core, try cdrtools (http://www.fokus.gmd.de/research/cc/glone/employees/joerg.schilling/private/cdrecord.html)

There is nothing else out there that can possibly beat this.

Nothing really..

With cdrtools you have more control over the format of the cd.

Show me a cd burning software that can with audio first then data CD (Enhanced cd format),

or one that can burn a audio track exactly 500 sectors then later burn data at that same point with mode 2/XA format (bootable dreamcast game)?

Nero can not do audio/data CD. It can do data/audio CD but you have "blank" and often long first track, on some cd players the get that "riaa" noise.

I love this idea of hadcore CD burning, like there are groups of people meeting on street corners all over the world furtively asking each other if they've tried the latest PS2/Xbox compatible mixed mode bootable mac shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!

I am afraid to use NERO also because when I tried, it saw I wasnt using a legit key, and etc..
