Hey, I watch the trailer the other day,
johnny is such a dinamic actor,
I mean, he goes from ¨Eduard to Investigator then to ¨Silly Pirat¨
and now mmm, well, ¨Willy Wonka.
I hate the original just by the looks (never seen it),
but this one I gotta see.

dude you have to see the original
log out now and go out and rent it, its a fucking classic
you can't even appreciate this if you haven't seen the original, this is a remake, not a sequel (big difference)

didnt see the trailer (2 slow connection) but Depp and Tim Burton as Director are a very good team :01:

They also did: Sleepy Hollow, Ed Wood and Edward Scissorhands

Looks like a sequel to me. "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" is its name.
The only reason they put "Willy Wonka" instead of "Charlie" at the start of the original's title is that Charlie was slang for the Vietnamese at the time.

And the new one does look pretty good in a really weird sort of way. :D

Yep - the name of the book that it's based on is "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". They simply kept the original name for this version. It was the other movie that was retitled.

The original movie is a classic, Depp should do well as Willy Wonka, the man seems to be able to play all sorts of strange and unusual characters with incredible style.
