Besides a hardware firewall (SBC Yahoo's router has one).. I also use a software firewall to control what is being sent out into the internet. Now, is ZoneAlarm still one of the best? If there's a better, I'll turn my money towards it for next years firewall service. When it comes to security.. I enjoy rather paying them for the help.

I noticed none of the Firewalls passed all 3 tests..heh Tiny Personal Firewall passed only one test, ironically the one both Zonealarm and Norton Firewall 2004 failed. Heh, can you use em both? Would be nice to have such protection.

dont use both they'll probably interfere with eachother then become less secure. :P

i guess you know how zone alarm works and all that. Try out sygate and see if you like it, a lot of people on this forum like to recomend that. :)

Hmm Zone Alarm 5.XX does work well with some of my programs. It crashes my Mirc and some other filesharing programs.

I use Norton, and it works pretty well, except when I am playing a graphics/memory heavy game, and then it has to minimize it to ask me for internet access, messing up my computer. But that would happen with any firewall, so I like Norton, Sygate is probably better, but I am too lazy. Norton is good for me.

Sygate Pro :01:

ME too....Ive used all the firewalls in the past, and Im still using Sygate Pro used in conjunction with my router/firewall. I think the router/firewall should be a must, if you really want to be protected! Also an anonymous proxy server would be a good idea, if you can find one that doesnt slow you down.
