yes, it usually takes quite awhile to update the lists. especially for a big one like dvdr.

Grabit is kinda slow in updating large newsgroups.
Newsleecher however does this much faster. :01:

You should give it a try.

been using 1.5.1 mainly for the nzb import function, but it seems laggy and pretty slow. ive tried newsbin and newsleecher - one of which i didnt like, and the other i couldnt find a working *ahem* way to buy

does anyone have any other suggestions for binary clients? id like:
small and lightweight
allow 2-3 connections (to one server) though it would be good to allow me to connect to >1 server a time
allow nzb import
thats about it!

If it's newsleecher you're talking about,it's been posted in alt.binaries.warez.ibm-pc.0-day.(Newsleecher_V2_00_beta_9_RC2_with_Keygen)

It's been posted there about 6 days ago.
So if you got a good retention, you might want to check it out ;)

edit:
If don't have good retention,here's a ed2k link:

Dunno how long the retention if for the grabit search, but it is possible if the search shows that all files are complete it is possible they are all incomplete @ the newsserver you use.

what i do if i use the grabit search is to use it to see where a file is, then i update headers in that group, and do it that way

you can right click the file from the search results and choose which server you wanna use for downloading.

Grabit search uses a website cannot remember which one but the website has 40days retention, only servers like Giganews offer more and thats about 55days on popular groups so thhe 40 days is usually enough for most people who are leeching offer thier ISP :P .

I use the server from my ISP (free ;)) most files become incomplete after 1,5 day :(

I use my ISP (5-7days but with no decent groups) and can borrow a giganews account every now and again for hard to find xbox and dvdr files.

Iv done something with some people at fasttracker where we have brought a giganews account and we all pay £3 a month towards it (4 people) and we all get to use it, 1 plug each and it maxes me out. So im set for newsgroups now.

only thing that i dont like about the search is that you have to add the group to your list before you can download from it. i hope i'm wrong, but thats what i found out.

Do your search, highlight the items you want to grab. Then click on the large grab button at the top. It will give you the option to pick your server. Pick it and grab.

Do it once and wait a few seconds or you may end up grabbing it all twice.
