ImageShack (http://www.imageshack.us/)

ImageShack is a free image hosting website. The site debuted in September 2003, offering a user-friendly and easy-to-use interface, and has since grown greatly in popularity.

The main page has a file selection field, where the user may select the image file to upload. The image file format must be either JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, TIF, BMP, or SWF, and the file must be smaller or equal to 1024 kilobytes. Uploaded BMP, TIFF, and TIF images will automatically be converted to PNG format.

After the file is uploaded, the user is redirected to a page containing different versions of URL's to the uploaded image. These URL's are preformatted in HTML and Bulletin Board code, which can be used to hotlink them on websites and message boards. These URL's can't be reached publically, therefore only the user and the persons he gives the URL to can know the file location.

Images are stored on ImageShack for an entire year since the image was last accessed before being automatically deleted, although this measure is currently not being practiced due to the huge amount of diskspace avaliable to the company.

There is also a free registration service that gives the user the ability to see and delete their previously uploaded images. Users can also register on the ImageShack forums in order to make posts. Viewing the forums is available to non-registered users

Limitations: File size limit 1024 KB; File types allowed: gif, jpg, jpeg, png, swf (Flash); Images that have not been accessed in over a year will be deleted

I beat your free image hosting place. :)

Ok, can you provide a direct link to images (no ".php?") Does not work like that on message boards. :)

That would be if you UPloaded 1000 pictures that were 1mb each. I highly doubt someone could do that.

Try this:

<img src="http://www.fatimages.com/getimg.php?img=jasonbunny.jpg">

It should work even if it isnt PHP - most image hosting sites use this same PHP method.

The problem is the there is a script option ".php?img=" in the url. A lot of forums will not allow this.

Well considering how my new sig has only been online and I only use it on this forum, it has generated the following results in 3 days:

Image Name: Sig002.gif
Filesize: 180.21 KB
Views this month: 3299
Views Today: 42
Highest Day: 1191 (12-19-2004)
Bandwidth used: 580.58 MB

So already I've used half the bandwith for 1 image. Now, most users aren't going to have an account and have one image to host so you can probably guess that it wouldn't have been long before the limit was reached.

QUICK ACCOUNT STATS
Images Uploaded: 43 / 200
Views This Month: 27643 / 100000
Bandwidth This Month: 1.15 GB / 50 GB
Space: 13.62 MB / 20 MB

This is basically the overview of my account, where roughly 3-4 images are viewed daily, mainly my avatar, sig and other pics for say tutorials.

It doesn't matter now anyway as he increased it to 5GB a week :)

Okay, I have worked out how to beat this (pretty easy to work out):

http://www.fatimages.com/files/jasonbunny.jpg

I will be incorporating that into the site, so it will no longer be the php method, and WE WILL BE SWITCHING IT TO UNLIMITED BANDWIDTH!

Enjoy guys :)

Okay, for those who are interested, i made some more changes:

Restictions:

Max 3000kB per image

Only JPG, JPEG, PNG or GIF

Max 10 uploads per day per user
