When should I start to cook the food for xmas...... according to the '1977 xmas cookbook' that I just borrowed off my mum I should have started to prepare in OCTOBER :w00t:

apparently my freezer should already be stocked with
- xmas puddings
- brandy butter
- mincemeat
- cranberry sause
- xmas cake
- turkey
- breadcrumbs
- smoked mackeral pate
- sliced oranges and melon
- pinapple shells
- red cabbage with apple
- chestnuts
- sweet & sour meatballs
- light fruity cake
- nutty bites
- candied cookies
- gingerbread cookies
- butter crisps
- chocolate cookies
- pineapple icecream
- duchesse potatoes

HOW BIG WERE FREEZERS IN THE 1970'S ??????????

There's christmas cake too.

Preferably without the icing though.

It is a very rich fruit cake sometimes made as much as 10 months in advance!
