Steam?

How in gods name do I use Steam to run my games. I recently got the HL2 Steam Bronze package over steam but my games freeze up when they run and apparantely they have to be updates but how??? :blink:

Heres what it says for my Half Life 2 properties:

See where it says 60% accuired? That probably means that the game is not done preloading yet :P

Still... it shouldn't have locked up on him. It should just pop up with the "Updating..." progress bar, or something like that, if he tries to play the game before it's ready.
