Greetings everybody

It has been more then a week since SuprNova.org went down. We are sorry that we have not updated the site with more recent news, but we have been very busy.

Anyway, we will soon be making an announcement. Announcement will be made on NovaStream.org radio on 30th December around 10 PM CET (9 PM GMT, 4 PM EST).

Also, everybody is still welcome to join us on irc (irc://irc.suprnova.org/suprnova.org) or on forums (www.suprnovaforums.net), but please remember, we are no longer offering torrents. You will not find any on IRC or on our forums.

Thanks,

Sloncek & the rest of the SuprNova team.

Happy New Year from The Suprnova Team!

ummm and the good news is????

they haven't said yet. hence the whole "soon be making an announcement. Announcement will be made on NovaStream.org radio on 30th December around 10 PM CET (9 PM GMT, 4 PM EST)."

edit: maybe you meant, why is SN making an announcement good news... in that case, i dunno. but like reality said, it probably does have to do with exeem.

i think they'll be hiking up the number of beta testers to 10,000 or maybe releasing a public beta, at the very least putting out more info about eXeem and how it works.

Its not all that great now although in time with more users it may have potential although with all the crap going on with bt it may safegaurd and even be a glipse into the future of bt by being a decentralized client...

bump news ->

Over at suprnova.org, they have a message stating that they'll be making an announcement today, 30 December, at 21:00 GMT. Does anyone have any insight about what it might be? Exeem , perhaps?

Maybe it's like fastrack but all you share on the network is torrents.

The client has a tracker and I guess indexes torrents, may use some sort of node stucture to search them so no site nessasasy...

have u used it? Does it use torrents or connect to users using the current bit torrent? Or is it just like a whole new network?

Listening to this interview now.
Sounds very dodgy - 'big company' buys in, remains anonymous and the program is ad-supported. I think somone's sold out. He says it costs money, hence ads - but isn't it supposed to be decentralized?
And it's pretty certain it won't be open source - so who knows what kinda crap could be in it.

All these 'great features' (ratings, comments) have been done over and over in various P2P apps - and how many people actually use them?

I will be interested to see how Sloncek will react when exeem lite is being shared on this network.

All this crap to find out $loncek sold out to some mystery company. How dare they associate exeem with bittorrent. I hope they crash and burn (it's a metaphor).

I got nothing wrong with making money but it should be done ethically.

Two words to describe Sloncek - ****ing sellout

Hopefully eXeem Lite will come out in a couple of weeks. I'll likely not use it though, just something to disrupt the advent of paying P2P ;)

The bandwidth used for SN must have been enormous considering its popularity, even more evident by the fact that numerous mirrors were needed. I doubt even he would have known the amount needed when he started out.

However, that would explain the ads that appeared on the SN site as well as the donation button - Becoming a P2P "celebrity" and endorsing an P2P program that encompasses most things long-term P2Pers hate (adware, a company profiteering) is unforgivable.

Shame for the others who helped out on SN though - Their work on SN will be down the drain thanks to him.

I already found eXeem .16 on emule already. The only problem is that you need a working serial key. These keys are tied to ip numbers so you cant distribute them. >< Theres no point in people posting eXeem. You need a key. Getting the program is easy.

And the ads can be easly blocked (cydoor). I know protowall does this. And if you can find the address it connects to, you might be able to block it via HOSTS file.

Lol, and the "anonumus" company is probably either RIAA or MPAA and they are trying to lure everone to use a supposibly "safe" program which instead is going to catch them.

I have a copy. Its kinda poop i personally like the way the current BT network is run where there is a range of clients on a range of OS where its not controled by a group. P2P networks die quickly when concentrated or centralised due to firms who run the client becoming hungry for money and clogging it with rubbish or the Gov clossing down easily due to a tight network. BT is already a good network and this is not the way to improve it. Anyone without the beta you aint missing much it is what you have but in one app. Thats good for ease of use but trust me this will not do good in the end.
