Does someone here own a GeForce FX 5800?
I read a review at guru3d.com but I dont trust those bastards one bit... :)
I heard they are people who work in nVidia...
Anyway, back to my question,is it good??
I was planning to buy one but I cant decide... radeon 9700 is good price/performance...

Anyway,thanks.

Maybe the topic here on this site (http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/4129/) will give you some ideas on what to expect. My opinion ATI's past had driver issues not sure how they stand now and Geforce has numerous compatible drivers to use. Use your judgement on what you want to spend. I use the GeForce Ti4200 128ddr card, suits me just fine.

Besides in a few months the high $$$ you spend now on a card will probably be half that or less. ;)

Ati vs Nvidia (http://www.klboard.ath.cx/bb/index.php?act=ST&f=31&t=22436)

and another (http://www.klboard.ath.cx/bb/index.php?act=ST&f=31&t=24209)

here are two threads currently on the subject.

I will be neither, as my ti4200 is fine for me.

But when doom3 hits... i will be getting the radeon 9800 pro, or the new nv35 card from nvidia...

just depends, if you play counter strike like me all the time, you dont really need more then a G4....

Radeon is the best way to go right now. The GeforceFX have been a huge dissapointment and just a bunch of hype. But who knows what the future holds. Let's hope Nvidia can get it together and start competing again. Healthy competition is an advantage to us all.
