I found out today from a relyable source that kazaa has a built in system where if you search certain words all the info that kazaa can find about you or has on you is sent to somewhere we arent sure where or what they do with it but its just a warning to everyone.

Like to name your reliable source?

Most people will not believe you unless you provide concrete evidence.

I think he is refering to spyware. There is spyware in Kazaa. Not KazaaLite.

Wouldn't that be illegal?

not if they can give the government a reason.

and since it is "illegal", anything goes.

i don't believe this though.

im not talking about spyware but i guess in a way it would be im talking it gathers info on your when you type in searches on like child porn and terrorist things anything that would be usefull info for someone and it sends info on your from your computer your ip times dates stuff like that i no longer use kazza because of this there is no way of getting around it.

Can an admin or someone confirm this? Pretty fucked up if it's true. Because you can't use kazaa legally :D there's just too much warez to say no.

Wasn't there a movie that refered to something like this? The FBI flagging searches and certain withdrawls from the library. Seven jumps to mind. But I am not sure.

Since what is illegal? It?

Don't tell me you are illegally using your computer to share copyright files!

Shame on you!

-------------------------

KaZaA is designed to share only legal files. As described in the original KaZaA rules - software license.
But somewhere in the original KaZaA software agreement is fine print that says it will use "spyware", but not in those exact terms.

As for KazAaLite, well, were just going for a free ride.
