Would be handy if...I had some software for work that could keep check of stock I have in storage and how much I need to order and something that I can draw a to scale shape and this would work out the square meterage of the shape, I feel like MS Visio and MSExcel would be probably be able to do the task using some template but not sure so any suggestions appreciated. :)

you would probably have to use mysql and design yourself a database to store all the information and a frontend to query and alter the tables.

quite a big job really. might be worth looking around for some open source tools similar to what you want and editing it to your needs.

excel will not be up to the task though but it may be possible in acess.

There is a lot of stock control software knocking about but not much along the lines of the shapes, I never though of access I'll give it a try in there.
