Is it possible for the lounge to manage a whole day using properly spelt and grammatically correct English?
The freedom of creative expression and even creating new forms of language is highly recommended. I bow down to these innovations.

Nice idea

... doomed to failure! :ermm:

No, it's not possible cos those of us who are crap at spelling and grammar would be checking everything in word or some such prog and would take ages to post by which time the post we make would be redundant.

Thank you for the nice idea tho and good luck with it for those who take part :)

Jonno

Spellcheck for IE and Spellbound for Firefox can do it and fast.

Face it: we're just lazy, or foreign or even both. :01:

Is spelt a real word.

Damn, I even spell checked and was certain that there would be a mistake.
As to your question, yes it is a real word, however it is not correct in this context.

Spelt is described as; Hardy wheat grown mostly in Europe for livestock feed.

You know I is teh aol bandit and don't have the spell thing and really can't be arsed to use spell buddy cos it annoys me, keep pinging everytime I spell something wrong or type someone's name :frusty:

Spelt is ok. It is just a little archaic but it still serves the purpose.

full stops aren't needed in one sentence things

Thank you for the extension, now i should be invulnerable to human error.

Yes I am lazy
I am too, but i have noticed that i have become so lazy that i can't even spell correctly even if i try.
This is not very handy in business situations. Hence the creation of this thread.

edit : i even had to grammatically edit this post twice, :01: to achieve immaculate perfection.

 I agree, but where's Manker when you want him :frusty:

He reckoned it has to have either a . or ! or ? or a smilie, he told me so :P

Personally I don't believe in full stops, I think someone just made them up to annoy us

I was trying to get away with while he and JP were missing, otherwise I'd be in trouble and have to write lines no doubt

zedaxax

In Jonno's case, i think a smilie, is the same as a full stop.
(just bigger)

@Dan...... I think we should boycot (prolly spelt wrong) all grammar :01:

@Zed..... That is just simply not true

Indeed.

However should one continue to use these archaic terms, I myself wouldn't. However tis' a matter twixt the author and his sense of propriety.http://www.my-smileys.de/smileys2/567.gif

I have grappled with the full stop issue.

I think it looks inelegant when used before a smiley so I don't use one.

The few posts I've read of Ziggy's this morning have been excellent, btw. He's even started writing you're when appropriate and his use of ellipses is perfect :01:
