Hey, i noticed that when i punch in my user name in google it shows all the forums or anything related to me for all to see, and that's sort of annoying.

How or who do I e-mail to have them take stuff like that out of their search engines?

or can i?

You would either have to ask the forums you have your name in
to,
1.Delete all your posts and identity
2.Change your name to something like a number or any other wierd digits !"#¤%&/()=? etc or add those digits to your name

Option 3 ask the god of internet to delete the forums

Search engines simply search for references.

Change your name to a word that Google automatically omits like, to, of, this, that, he, she, etc.

well, darn, too bad i dont' get as many results as you people, cuz if i did, then my identity would be thrown around randomly and so it wouldnt' be a problem, but the fact that each of those results are all really and ONLY mine, that's irratating.....and i bet it's going to take a month for the google support to get back to me on that...

so what does all of this mean? i'm not really a computer type of guy, so that meta file stuff doesn't mean much to me

Hi there,

I found this thread whilst searching the site for "meta tags".

I know it's been about 9 months since this thread was active but I thought I'd chip in.

Google is not exactly telling you the truth. Wasn't there a p2p program maybe Kazaa, who forced google through threat of legal action to stop them showing search results on cracked versions of kazaa like Klite tools K++. Google is well known in the world of censorship, because they censor their websearch results according to which google domain you are using. See this report about it.

bbc news this is a link (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/2360351.stm)

The same threat of legal action could equally be made by an individual. on grounds of data protection, but to be honest they'd probably just say "see you in court" Lol.

Are you talking about your user name "mikenmike.." What you need to do is change your username to something which comes up everywhere, mine is "wiggle" and I get 3 million results, but I also have multiple usernames on different boards, I'm not wiggle on Imdb message boards for example.

If you are talking about your proper name that will be a bit more difficult to eradicate, but you should be mixed in with other people of your same name. And it should also be easier to get your real name removed from sites that have used it referring to you.

Asking google to help is not the way forward here.

cheers.

I changed my name to Cheese so my enemies can no longer find my posts with such ease. Also there is another guy out there called 'Withcheese' who hosts a gay as fuck Star Trek site and I didn't want people thinking that was me.

I suggest you take a remedial english class. Ask your school for help or if you are an adult
look for a night class at a college near you. It quite clearly says that you have to get the people who controls the websites your posts are on to do somthing. You can't get the search results removed yourself.

Yes. That action was brought using the Digital Millenium Copyright Act.
Sharman networks holds the copyright on the kazaa client. The people distributing cracked versions were breaching sharman's copyright.

Forum websites are not breaching copyright by distributing mikenmike0001's posts so he
can't use the DMCA to force google to remove the search results. Not to mention
that a bunch of retarded forum posts using an alias are not worth the lawyers fees.

This is all total bullshit.

It's a good idea to give a justification when making blanket statments like that
or people will assume you are stupid.
