Half Life 2: Deathmatch

I was just wondering if anyone knew how to enable the console in deathmatch?

Add ' -console' to the prefex using steam then push ¬/`

There is no shortcut though. I have to open up hl2 deathmatch using steam.

in the steam games menu right click on it and hit create shortcut on desktop

Options > Keyboard > Advanced

And check the 'enable console' option
