i think it might cost more money i dont relly do much though like mostly homework and sometimes download music but its just for simple things but later i might want to play some games with other people on the web and download movies too i head that this is a good place to get movies to would it need to be alot faster for movies?

a P4 (pentium 4) is better than a celeron. Larger cache and some other things make it faster than the celeron.

But if you had a choice between intel (pentium) and AMD i would definately choose AMD.
You get more for your money.

Btw, welcome to the board. :) in teh future you should use mroe descriptive titles. ;)

I'd recommend purchasing an AMD system too.

Not only is it far cheaper than it's closest competitor in terms of processor power, your games and films will run fine. It's like AMD was made for gaming :)

Welcome to the board.

What is the computer going to be used for?

Pentium is better but much more costly.

I also think that AMD CPUs offer more for your money.

PS. Are you related to MM?

nope.
they've been the "other" cpu company for about 7 years (atleast).
AMD and Intel and the biggies.

and AMD is generally cheaper. :)

OK in IKES books or other books this topic is off topic!!! most of you guys ain't even answering the question.

what do you think happened in the Musicmaster thread??

Ill go to gamesworld and ask what PS2 games I want ill get answer like get XBOX better graphics get this get that.

Now I prefer AMD myself yes

he said he wanted it for SIMPLE THINGS

meaning not the absolute class PC in the world. not everybody can afford a class PC why do you need a fking 3 ghz PC ffs too dl music !!!

I think people should just answer the question rather then go on with their bios opinions otherwise we wil have another musicmaster thread again where it gets ugly.

Pretty recent, yes.

Founded in 1969 and based in Sunnyvale, California, AMD provides microprocessors, Flash memory devices, and silicon-based solutions for our customers in the communications and computer industries worldwide.

This is why almost everyone on this board and most others recomends AMD to people who ask for advice. :P
