your case is very messy. Clean it and organnize the wires THEN post some pics.

Sorry i have no digital caera so I can't take pics. But it's a corner desk with the monitor in the middle, mouse is on the desk (wireless), keyboard in the pullout drawer in the middle, computer is underneath the desk on the right side of my feet.
above the monitor is a helf type thing with my printer. On my right is the scanner and on my left is my cds and paper.
behind me (sort of on the other side of the room i guess) is the tv, ps2, vcr, router, modem, and alarm clock. :)

Hello!

Holy Shit and I thought I was a mess :helpsmili

Just kidding in Sweden you would be breaking the radio law by running your computer without a case that acts as a EMI shield, because the Electro magnetical Interferrence signals coming from the computer might interfer with military and civil radio communication. Thsi offense is punishable by up to 2 months in prison but to my knowledge no one has ever been convicted for it

But mostly it might hurt your health I would not run my computer without a case due to the radiation, the radiation from the monitor is enough for me :nuke: !.

Here is my place:

http://img122.exs.cx/img122/5457/myhpcomputer7sc.jpg

And a mess on my printer:

http://img119.exs.cx/img119/5797/myprinter6sx.jpg

As you can see boringly clean right now but it really was a mess before Christmas but my mom demanded that I clean it up before Christmas time! :blushing:

There's my PC. It's pretty quiet. I changed the LED fans for panaflos. I also changed the stock AMD HSF to the TT Silent Boost. The noise is still noticeable, but comfortable. The only thing keeping it from dead silence is the generic PSU that came with the case. I will eventually change that too. Maybe I'll do it with my next check. :shifty:

P.S. Excuse the dust. That was left behind by the old PC.

I think that this person might very well be talking through his arse^

If the plastic roof on the antec aria can stop the interference enough to make it legal so can a wall, especially if there's wiring in it, you might get convicted if you strolled into a hospital and turned on your cell, or indeed a computer outside it's case 'cos if you were extremely unlucky it might mess with someone's pacemaker, but doing it indoors shouldn't be a prob. Don't think it generates enough interference to mess with tv or any other important broadcasts either.

If it did it'd happen all the time.

Besides that I think any law regarding interference from electrical appliances first concerns the manufacturer.

And pease: that's not just his cpu, you know.

Supernatural, That case is beautifull, and Im interested in reducing the noice mine makes, so, what are the LED Fans, and the Panaflos?
what is the stock AMD?
And also, I liked the lights inside your case, I have a transparen case too, but no so many lights, so, If I were to adapt lights to it, where should I conect it?

Supernatural
01-20-2005, 01:05 AM
The case is Aspire X-Dreamer II. Twister has the same one. The blue LED fans you see came with the case. I changed them to Panaflo's by Panasonic, which are quieter. Stock AMD HSF (heatsink/fan) is the cooling that came with my Athlon 64 retail package. I replaced that with the SilentBoost K8 by Thermaltake, which is also quieter. The remaining front LED lights connect to the powersupply via 2-pin molex. I hope this answer's your questions.

Sure size is not the most important thing, but its not that yours are just small, its also there is only two of them and thati can see no subwoofer or any other equipment in sight, also from the apperarance they look like very cheap plastic speakers you buy at a second hand pc shop for £2. Why do you even try to debate the fact that your small, cleap looking speakers can give out the same sound quality as a 7.1 digital surround sound speakers with an subwoofer and other high priced audio devices?

My speakers are of medium size but they cost me quite a bit, don't look cheap and plastic like, they also have a subwoofer, bass controller as well as volume and a few other nice features.

preezy the point is that i dont need a new speaker when i can hear what i want to hear on my current speakers, and why should i buy a bigger functional speakers and am not much in music and i dont care about better quality, all i want to hear is windows error and games sounds. mybe u waste ur money to showoff but am not that kinda of person, u can call me cheap but when u start to get money on ur own and u wont get ur stuffs from christmass presents anymo u will understand the money value.

Trust me i understand the value of money well enough right now. I never said you should buy bigger speakers just wondered why your entire setup looked rather like a very old Pentium 1 that someone twice your age would run (steriotypical but shoot me)

@Vb - where did i 'bully' him, i simply asked how he could stand such an eye sour of a pc and speakers and so on, if he likes shyte quality thats up to him, all i debated was the fact that he said Big speakers are always loud and he has small speakers so the volume isnt so loud :wtf:

My equipment doesn't look amazing either, i have a nice keyboard and mouse, my speakers are nice enough and do there jobs, the case is that of an Advent 3519 so isnt amazing, infact i have a really nice spare case that iv been meaning to move over to, but havnt had the time recently.

when the feck i said that, i ment big speakrs r for thoes who need higher volume which i dont need so there is no reason why i should buy them.

i dont need bigger speaker i prefer looooow voluime all the time.

Implying only big speakers do loud volume and if you have big speakers that you cannot have loq volume at all.

This is just to placate sara, really but...

There's a steering-wheel and a joystick on the bottom shelf, a subwoofer for the speakers, and an amplifier for teh 5.1 sound headphones (which are hanging next to the keyboard).

The thing on the mousepad that looks like teh ladies might like it is actually an ergonomic mouse, and the thing right above it is a trackball.

The speakers might look small, but the wattage is decent enough to work when I'm not wearing the headphones.

The monitor is an old compaq that's going to go just as soon as I buy this Hyundai CRT I've been looking at.

The cabling is a bit messy ATM, but it's only a temporary thing.

Sorry about the quality, the camera is a bit dodgy, and the lighting is crap. (It's pitch black outside.)

Airflow effeciency is most important when it comes to air cooling. Having 10 case fans will do nothing without the proper airflow. Incoming and outgoing airflows have to be equal, preferably with incoming from the bottom and outgoing somewhere on top. (Heat rises, blah blah...)

Balderdash.
This might be a good theory to base your design on, but to state it as a fact for every case and every configuration is silly.
Start wherever you will, but be prepared to modify ( and depart from the model) as conditions require.

Supernatural
02-05-2005, 07:51 PM
Of course, not all configurations are the same. I'm simply stating what is the ideal setup.. what you should try to model your setup after. I'm pretty sure most people will agree with me on this.

clocker
02-06-2005, 12:22 AM
I'm really not trying to be a jerk about this, but I have spent a lot of time designing and testing cooling solutions for a variety of different PCs and have yet to discover a "universally agreed upon" layout much less an "ideal" one.

OK, I am being a jerk, but there you go.

I may have once been in danger of becoming one, though. That's a (legendary) Mission 70 MkII you can see at the top; it's all I could afford when I bought my system twenty-odd years ago, but I stopped looking at Pink Triangles & Nakamnchis when I realised I'd never be able to afford them!
