it shouldn't mess up anything unless you have a problem while isntalling (which isn't likely).

That is a list of programs that seem to behave differently after SP2. To be safe, a back up is good. Also get atleast the newest version of your network driver to be safe in case you need to update all sorts of components.

Well I can only speak from my own experience . But have installed on over 10 computers ( friends and work mates ) Never seen a problem yet. If you have sp1 already installed no problem with bad keys. But yes BACK UP . :)
