I just downloaded the application SImCity 4, and it came with a few files, including the EXE, however, it won't open since it seems to need proper installation. How is it done for programs with many files?

you need to burn them to cd (thats what a .bin and .cue file are) they are images of the original disc the game was on. You can use Nero burning rom, or alcohol %120 to burn them (i prefer alcohol %120) the exe that you have may be a cracked executable for the game once installed (not sure tho)

Can I use my current software (ROXIO CD CREATOR) instead of the ones you say? Also, should I put one .cue and one .bin in each of the 2 cds necessary? Again, I appreciate your help.

In my experience, roxio sucks for doing anything. sides, i dont think roxio will burn images. trust me, use alcohol.

also, the .cue files tell the burning software what files to use, so you cant mess it up. I use alcohol, and you just select "image burning wizard", and in a few minutes, you got your disc ready to play. You could mount the image, but i suspect thats a little beyond your needs at the moment.

i just downloaded alcohol. Any special things I need to do for a correct burn of this type of file, or just make the 2 cds normally, with the 2 files in each cd?

when alcohol is opened, on the left you see a link for "image burning wizard", clik it, and then you will browse to your files. find the first .cue file, and clik next, you will see that you can select the drive speed, shit like that, then burn it. simple :)

*edit* you will need to repeat the same thing for the second .cue

half a dozen of one; 6 of another
everyone has the best way to load games, I personally don't like burning un-less I really like a game (rarely) so it save me a few disk :)

I saw it this way, He obviously didnt know what to do, and i figured trying to tell him how to mount an image and install may have been too much. I tried to say that in an earlier post without being rude to him. burning seemed a bit easier, as he seemed familiar with burning cd's at least. this thread would be huge i bet, if we tried to get him to mount it. I could be wrong tho :)

sides.....I use alcohol for everything. burning cds, mounting images and drinking

Hi, I'm new to this, sorry, but would he just burn the .cue files to CDs (1 per CD), or the .cue with the corresponding .bin (1 pair per CD)?

Yea, daemon tools will save you some blank disks. It uses virtual "CD/DVD Drive technology", so the game will actually install much faster since it's on your hardrive. normally, you can also run games that require a game disk with daemon tools too. It's fairly easy to use, so I'd try it.
