Hey guys, I never knew this and I found it interesting. Hope you enjoy:

A corruption of the word "Owned." This originated in an online game called Warcraft, where a map designer misspelled "owned." When the computer beat a player, it was supposed to say, so-and-so "has been owned."

Instead, it said, so-and-so "has been pwned."

It basically means "to own" or to be dominated by an opponent or situation, especially by some god-like or computer-like force.
"Man, I rock at my job, but I still got a bad evaluation. I was pwned."

OR

"That team totally pwned us."

pwned
A Definition in the Urban dictionary, that every useless retard and his dog, has decided to add multiple definitions for (even tho its the same f*&king definition).

YOU'RE NOT FUNNY, the first one is the best, and the rest are cheap copies
"all the tards who added in definitions directly related to the first definition, just got pwned

Suggestion submitted with Request to Delete: "Instead of being a cry baby bitch, he should have recommended the other definitions for deletion."

also. all of the definitions on the net are wrong. Pwned is actually derived from the name of Lee Jeong Pwn, a legendary Korean gamer who could press 52 keys per second on his keyboard. it goes without saying that he was a fierce warrior in everything from Counter-Strike to Starcraft to The Sims House Party.

it's no less realistic than "omgit'sfromaWarcraftmap." HI, YOU CAN'T GIVE SOMEBODY CREDIT FOR COINING A TYPO BECAUSE... LOOK, THE O AND P KEYS ARE RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER... IT'S A FRICKEN TYPO.

I think "Pwned" is a typo of "Owned" that mange to stick and "pr0n" was invented to bypass early word filters. Also stuck around.

hmmm, word filters...didn't think about that till now

Korean gamer who could press 52 keys per second on his keyboard.Feck arf. Google has never heard of it and neither have I - 52 keystrokes per second, my arse.

I think most credence lies, obviously, with a common typo that got adopted by gamers.

Altho' the origin I find most compelling is the esoteric account of the 19th century Prague Working Nympho group that charged half as much as their whore contemporaries and eventually gave their services away. They were so energetic and robust in their lovemaking that 3 out of 4 married businessmen that spent the night with them died of heart failure by the morn.

Pwned.

The day 'pwned' gets into the proper dictionaries of the world is the day civilization ends.

Yup.

Stupid theory, "oh one guy made the kind of typo everybody is prone to do when drunk, and have probably made since the first keyboard saw the light of day, ah yes he must have invented it".

If we can do that I wanna' make sure everybody knows who invented the l33t drunkeness I was spurting a while ago. I made lots of those awesome typos.

Oh n' capt azzhole, I think that was kind of an insult. Should have kept it simple and not gone with "simplistic".

11. pwned
a word invented by Al Gore when he created the internet, and thus internet gaming. it is the same as owned but to a higher level. P is 1 letter after O in the alphabet. owned < pwned (and theoretically) < qwned < rwned < etc. etc.
The mailman was pwned by the large dog.

or

The large dog was pwned by the mailman's can of mace.

Best one, I think
