Catalyst 5.1:
All you ATi Radeon owners out there listen up, there are brand spanking new Catalyst 5.1 drivers out today for your downloading pleasure. The drivers weigh in at 22.8MB and have a host of fixes including:

*Second head in Dual Head system is no longer corrupt during login screen
*Display corruption is no longer seen when switching between X-Windows and the Linux text console, and back to X-Windows

*Video playback in Dual Head mode no longer results in an error message being displayed, or the player failing to start

*PCI-Express systems no longer hang after running 3D Applications for long periods
*3D Applications no longer hang on RHEL 3.0 with 1GB or more memory installed

*Stopping and restarting the X server no longer results in memory leaks or hangs on PCI-Express systems

funny...how i dont even own an ATI card and i always end up posting driver updates....second time in a row...i think i deserve a 9500pro :P (for free) :ph34r:

New 5.1 drivers are amazing.My 9600 pro works much fast with smooth frames in Wolfenstein ET.Tell then adieu

one minute does it look like ati is actually trying to improve their drivers for linux. better grab them so i can complain about how they are crap compaired to the windows version.

anyone runnin these "XP SP2 recommended" drivers on SP1?
and has it gone well?
i f00ked off the 4.10 drivers because of the "SP2 recommended" bs....

I'd say this is drivers, hence software for hardware
