Just wondering how long do you think it will last me and what kind of games i should be able to play..i'm planning on getting HL2, how do you think it will run on it?

If you're going with a socket 478, I would lean towards a northwood instead of the prescott. Despite the cache difference, the speed difference is almost none but the heat difference is huge.

halflife 2 should run fine. That card isn't that great but i'm almost certain that it can run that game pretty well (i have teh same card).


An AMD CPU would have been cheaper, btw. SO you would have gotten better performance for teh same price. Possibly buy a better video card.

I've been running HL2 on a similar gfx card without any problems.


how long do you think it will last meOC it to about 4GHz. It will run just about any game you want just fine, and may even last about half an hour. ;)
