Pop-up Blockers
For IE: Google Toolbar (http://toolbar.google.com/)
Other: Mozilla Firefox 1.0 (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/)
Adware / Spyware Removal
Ad-Aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/)
SpyBot S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html)
Spy Sweeper (http://www.webroot.com/products/spysweeper/)
I recommend using all 3 ad/spyware software.

Yup good pop up blocker would be the mozilla browser ( havent seen a pop up in along while because of it :D )
For IE , google toolbar seems to be the only good free one.... but some pop ups from some sites have been able to bypass it....

For a pop up blocker and ads blocker, use Supertrick XG 1.6, its an excellent utility that blocks millions of unwanted ad servers and scam sites.
Supertrick Xg (http://www.filesharingplace.com/supertrickxg/main.htm)
As for a browser pop-up blocker I use maxthon which also has a web ads blocker, float ad blocker and an activex blocker. You can get it @
Maxthon (http://www.maxthon.com)
For adware and spyware I use Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy. Both are excellent and free. You can also get it @ nsane's site (www.nsane.tk)

but i would can that spybot BS in favor of pest patrol...just my opinion :P
spybot's support/updates has always been shit
yeah, i know, its free...but so is ad-aware....
and they have at least decent support/updates
find a corp version of PP, v4.4 preferably (v5 kinda went downhill IMO)
this is my list of security goodies installed atm:
AdMuncher
Ad-Aware SE (personal)
Mail Washer Pro
PestPatrol Corp 4.4
SpywareBalster
Sygate Personal Firewall Pro
Symantec AV Corp v9
Trojan Hunter 4
Webroot Spysweeper

FKDUP74 - wow you have all that installed...is it necessary to have all that installed.
what does everyone think of Norton? maybe along with firefox with Adblock? you think thats a good combo of apps to use

You can also use free AVG which is excellent or NOD32 which has an unprecedented detection rate and uses very little system resources.

yup, and more on the way :P
still looking to find an AV that will play well with symantec (for a second opinion scanner)
see....thing is....not all apps will catch everything
an antivirus is....well....an antivirus :P
not always the best for trojans, and not really worth a squat for spy/adware
spyware apps all seem to detect different spywares...
none of them catch em all
so i try to get the best performing apps...
as many as it takes...
to get the best level of security i can
and even then, common sense is still the main rule
you can double the amount of security apps i got...shit, triple the #...
and still get infected if you dont watch what you do
