Transfering Folders to IPOD

i just got an ipod and when i add all my files, which are organized into folders. (arist name - album name) and the files within them are organized in order, they all have 01, 02 etc. When i add them to itunes to transfer i tunes looks at their id3 tags or something and lists them out of order and 90% of the time doesnt include the track number in the song name.. I only have full albums and if itunes does this i wont be able to listen to the albums in order. Is there any way to just tranfer the folders onto the ipod? thanks.
