View Full Version : Disc not being detected
I was gonna burn a disc that my buddy let me borrow but my drive isn't even showing that it's inserted. I inserted the disc and expected the XP window to pop up asking what I'd like to do but nothing happened. I click on the D: drive (rom drive) and it says 'please insert a disc' WTF? I tried other discs and they read just fine... Any thoughts?
The disc is a FujiFilm CD-R
The drive is a Digital Technologies DVD RW 8X

If the disc wasn't closed when it was burned it may not be readable in other CD drives. The UDF (universal disk format) file was not created on the disk thereby giving you this problem. (as I understand it)
Sadly, I don't know how to work around this as I've never had this problem....
Maybe others will chime in and help you better than I.

what if you just go into nero or whatever burnign program you use (please don't tell me you use the xp built in thing!) and try burning?
It's not the finisher thing because it plays in cd players.
@Rossco - Nero doesn't seem to see it either.

Try going in to nero then go to Recorder > disc info to find out more info about the disc. (it will tell you the sessions and tracks that are on the disc
