There is no way (and there will never) a way to play any game online on Xbox Live for free.

Listen carefully. You, or your friend, or anyway for that matter, will Never be able to play on XBox Live, without a legal copy of the game, an un-chipped Xbox with standard hard drive, the Xbox Live starter kit, and an Xbox Live subscription.

Never.

the 2 month trials bill you 50 bucks at the end of them if you dont call and cancel them

Well of course they don't. They wouldn't make any money like that. "Umm yes, your free trial has run out, so if it's ok with you, we're gonna charge you $50.00." People would just say cancel it and then go buy another game that has a free trial with it. Almost every Live Enabled game comes with them now, so it's pretty easy to get.

I was replying to twister's post. Sorry, should have quoted. I meant "Of course Microsoft doesn't call you to tell you that your trial has run out."
