Read this to know how:
Uninstall Windows Media Player (XP users) (http://www.tweakxp.com/tweakxp/display.asp?id=1812)
the add remove prgrams does not remove media player.
it only removes access to media player.
e.g removes the shortcut from the start menu etc.

Exactly, use a better player like BSPlayer which is the best one I have used so far cuz it is easy, good and doesnīt take up so much memory like Media Player does
this did not work for me :( im not sure why i properly did something wrong i pasted that run command into run and tried it and nothing :( any ideas?

Windows Media Player versions 7 and later have progressively MORE anti-copy measures put in, file monitoring (by Microsoft), security holes as bad or worse than the ones in Outlook and Internet Explorer (I had a fake 'MP3' file that was a vbs script virus -- WMP ran it despite being mis-named without even a WARNING!), and is just slow BLOATWARE.
