Anyone have any experience with the built in FTP in server 2003? Or is it best to get a 3rd party FTP app like Ability FTP or something? The built in one seems a bit a pain in the ass to setup individual user accounts, although im no expert with server 2003 either.

hmm.
I'm assuming teh 2003 one would be a lot like the one on XP...correct?
In that case I'd just use the built in. I use the xp built in one and have no problems, i also prefer it over thirdparty ftp programs since it's just like putting things into a folde ron your computer (you get to it through explorer).

hmm. I didnt know that XP had a FTP. I tend to agree on using built in rather than loading up on excess programs. I just need to learn how to use it.

Well in the XP one you rus a wizard to add a net network place...
It then asks for an adress you put in "ftp://ftp.address.com"
You then put a username in and the wizard ends.
finally when you want to use the ftop just go to my network places and double click the icon. When it connects it asks for your password, you can choose to save it as well. :)
To add something you just copy and paste as if it was a folder on your computer.

Its pretty easy to configure..(the built in one)
I prefer to use 3rd party apps as theyre not likely to crash, breakdown, or generally Fuck-up like the majority of Micro$lop products...

I have ws ftp pro, but not the server thingy, just the other,,,.....thingy. I use it to ftp into my website, and i do like it. I also have Gene 6 in my program stash, but one program in perticular that i did install and use breifly was Ability FTP. That program seemed quite nice, but i will try your reccomendations. :)
