Lockdown
04-02-2003, 06:58 PM
This is short film me and my friends made.
It's about 28 minutes long and about 300 megs.
Kinda like Jackass but without a budget.
We flimed a bunch of stuff on a camcorder and captured it
on a computer and put it together using Ulead Video Studio 6 Basic.
It's in .mpeg format so everyone should be able to watch it.
We didn't make any money off it and we didn't care to.
We will probably make a second one but it won't be done for a long time.
We just want people to watch it and laugh or whatever.
BTW our second one will probably be better.

There's only one source right now so its gonna be hard to get.

Any comments can be sent to [email protected]

that should do it

as for the question "is it actually funny or kinda disgusting like jackass?"
we think its pretty funny and our friends think its pretty funny.
in fact it was their idea to put it on kazaa.
as for the disgusting part its nowhere near as disgusting as jackass
so don't worry about that

Oh good. Jackass was a bit too nasty at times. That guy taking a dump in the plumbing store display toilet was funny, but they had to show the 2 foot turd too.

Make that HASH into a clickable link, so that it loads directly into KaZAaLite.

You'll get more exposure that way.

Since I assume that the file is homemade (and not copyright), the HASH would be acceptle, thus no illegal share is involved.

Ouch! Don't expect anything quite like that in the movie. Jackass the movie is a bit high of a bar of expectations for low-budget university students to meet ;). The reason being because it was basically an experiment based on random video shoots. I know because I was in the movie :P

It's not too bad, and I'd go on the record as saying the sequel will be at least 20 times funnier. The current movie is worth the download, and you'll get some laughs out of it.

All I can say is that the filming and ideas had to start somewhere, and as for where they're going now for number 2 (hahahah.... "Number 2")... oh man... even I'm scared. Much more "special guests", mind blowing sequences, innocent bystanders, and of course, people makin fools of themselves on camera!

How about creating a 5 MB trailor for the movie. Use something like Ulead Media Studio to create it.

This will keep the patiently awaiting crowd busy until enough sources are found from KaZaA.

Every day I have KaZaALite on, and still no sources at all. You'd think there would be at least something.

Can the movie be posted at a website. I can download it directly to my share folder, thus creating another source.

If you have broadband, then set your Kazaa software into "Supernode", this will allow sources to reach out to other users.

MavericK2K3
04-10-2003, 07:55 PM
Alright, I've done that. I've made sure that pretty much only the movie can be downloaded from me, for now at least. I think somebody else out there got the whole movie, or at least a big chunk of it. The trailer is being made now, and should be ready soon. Of course, Locky will tell you where/when you can get it :D

04-10-2003, 08:41 PM
Taking Spindulik's advice I have just finished the trailer.
Only it's 17MB and not around 5 <_<
But hey thats a lot less than 300MB
It runs about 1:44 minutes.
Anyway this will hopefully tide people over
until there's some more sources.

Oh my god.
An FTP is SO easy!

You just drag the movie file from the file explorer, and then you drop it into the FTP page, which looks exactly like the file explorer.

The hard part is trying to find an FTP site.

Ok guys, here's the deal

There IS a movie, (KoBe8FaN@KaZaA has already seen it and commented on it in the 'Verified Hashes' section of 'MovieWorld').
But, the reason you guys are having trouble finding it is the location of your computer. All the PC's that have the movie in full seem to be in Canada. So your best bet to try and find it would be to change your location ('Country' in 'My KaZaA LiTe' options) from whatever it is now to 'Canada'. Then again, if you've already done this, I will feel kinda dumb (although, if any of you have seen the movie, you'll know I'm used to it!). Doing this (I think) will change the default supernodes that KaZaA Lite uses to ones nearer us, and the movie.

Also, I've spoken to Maverick about the FTP deal, and he's all for it. The problem is finding an FTP site willing to take on a 300Mb file for 0$. If anyone out there has any suggestions, PLEASE let us know. We'll do everything we can to get this movie available to all of you.

Thanks for your patience, guys!

You could use something like Direct Connect, let people know your name on there and they can download directly from you. (In fact they can do a search for the name and do it that way). It may help if you tell people the hub you are connected to.

That way you host the movie yourself, but still allow people to get a direct connection. You can also open up as many slots as you want, depending on your bandwidth. If there are a few of you interested you can all host the file and let people know your names / hubs.

 It never ceases to amaze me that if you sit around and do nothing
long enough, a solution will present itself.

After installing a new Kazaa Lite, I found that it came with a little
program called KaZuperNodes. This program allows you find the
supernode that your .dat files originated and connect to that supernode.
:D :D :D :D :D

I'll try to explain how to do this although I just figured it out myself.
First get the new Kazaa Lite. (duh)
Next start KaZuperNodes and click on File and click
"Extract SN IP's of dat file"
Then open the dat file.
In the list should be at least one item.
Next click the button with the lightning bolt that says "Check Status"
After it does that double click the supernode that says Lockdown
since I'm a supernode right now.
Then over on the bottom part of the side panel click "Check Status"
again then click "Connect to New Supernode" then it should connect
you to me and should start downloading the movie.
If this doesn't work then I don't know what I'm doing.
Of course I don't know what I'm doing half the time anyway.

I can't find the newest version (or correct version) of KaZaALite. I don't want to download a homemade hacked version.

Where can I get that. I currently have version 2.1.0

About that supernode thing. Where do I find that program in Kazaalite?

Loomis
04-19-2003, 03:02 AM
here goes, but I'm no expert....

First off, yes, version 2.1.0 is the most recent one that Lockdown is refferring to, so you're all set with that one.

Second, I noticed that the KaZuperNodes program isn't checked by default in the setup/install process, so you have to actually check it so that it'll install. Once you install it with the program, it should be right on the home page in the 'Web' section, right next to 'Detect SuperNode'.

Aside from that, all you need to know is what Lockdown posted.

Hope that helped, it should greatly improve your chances of finding that movie, which I'm really glad you haven't given up on yet!

btw, I'm also a supernode now, and I'm at Loomis@KaZaA; I have 'Lockdown' and I'm always online.

So again, good luck, and happy viewing!!

Yours truly.

Do I have to re-install K-Lite just to have KaZuperNodes appear?

Loomis
04-19-2003, 03:54 AM
i'm not really, sure, I just got it today.....but, considering that your settings are all saved when you re-install over it, it shouldn't be too much of a hastle

But, I doubt that we're able to install components separately, so i would have to say yes, we must re-install KaZaA to get access to that tool...

Trust me though, it's worth it! It makes makes any uncomplete download (.dat file) alot easier to find, without having to constantly jump SuperNodes, as I know you've tried.

Oh, where did you get the name "LOOMIS" from? I used to run a very popular website, years ago, called "Rhemis Link Page", Featuring Rhemis, Loomis and Hannis. It was so popular, I had to shut it down. The traffic was slowing my ISP, affecting other customer's services.

Loomis
04-19-2003, 05:18 AM
Actually, it was after having seen CKY2K!
There's a character named Loomis Falle in the movie, and in a certain scene, in which they do a parody of a 1-800-Collect commercial, his attire (A mullet, really tight and haggard pants and a beat-up old T-shirt) was thought to be quite funny by my fellow Lockdown Co-'Stars'. They thought that I was the nearest thing amongst us all to that guy. So, I, being the fairy that I am, recieved the nickname Loomis, and it stuck!

We all have nicknames in our band (same idea as what Sum*41 did with themselves: Bizzy D, Brownsound, Cone, Stevo32) and mine's Loomis.

Sorry that I was never able to see your site, let alone inspire my name with it....

But good luck with finding Lockdown! I hope that tip helped. You've been a trooper for this flick since the start!
Thanks, on behalf of all the guys of Lockdown.

crack man don't ruin it its fun watching the noobs try to work it out between themselves. They got as far as kazupernodes and that should have been the first reply  now your going to get technical with them about jumping to his node.
pleeeeeeeeeeeeese let them just work it out...

share4uk
05-13-2003, 09:32 AM
LMAO... :D

stg1123 - Do you have the movie? I agree this should have been resolved with a supernode ip address right at the start  . I am interested in this movie and live in the UK so Ill have no chance of getting it without a supernode ip (Loomis said he is always onlnie so it will be so easy) I can't be bothered to hop around Canada and look for it so i think these people need to be put out of their miseries by being told Loomis's supernode ip...sorry stg1123 but its just too cruel to let them try and figure it out - here goes:

LOOMIS!: If you want to spread your file then follow these instructions:

1. Start Kazaa Lite
2. On the start page click on 'Detect Supernode'
3. Copy the SUPERNODE IP AND PORT ADDRESS. Example: 123.123.123.123:1234
4. Copy the Supernodes username. Example: Username@KaZaA
5. Post them both on here
6. Keep Kazaa lite on for as long as possible (you say you are on all the time) IF you restart kazaa lite at any time, you will need to repeat steps 2-5 as you may have changed supernodes.
6. Congratulate yourself on giving us the address of the supernode you are connected to so that everyone who wants the file can connect to that supernode and download Lockdown from you.

It shoudn't be long after you post you will see everyone (Who understands how to jump to a supernode of choice) download lockdown from you. I will certainly download it as soon as you post the supernode.

For those of you who want the file lockdown but do not know how to jump to a supernode of choice with Kazupernodes, LEARN HOW TO USE IT FAST HERE:

http://www.fasttrackhelp.com/forums/index....=ST&f=52&t=2889 (http://www.fasttrackhelp.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=52&t=2889)

To everyone who wants to download Lockdown:

When you understand how to use Kazupernodes you will recognise the significance of the supernode address that Loomis is connected to and be able to use it to get the file. All you need to do is enter the address and connect to it.

To Lockdown: You can do the same as what I said about Loomis, follow those steps above and tell people when you will be online so we can put 2 + 2 together and download from you when you are online too.

...Now I await the mass confusion...

Despite how much laughter may have been generated by the incompetence

If, for some reason, KaZaA Lite decides to jump SuperNodeswithout my consent,
as it has done in the past, I'll re-post the new IP+Username. That will simultaneously
keep you all updated and keep the thread near the top for easy access to all those who

Im a bit worried that there are rules against the posting of supernode addresses because some people  like to abuse ip addresses, I can't remember if that was this forum or not (I post in a fair amount)...if it is then you post will surely be edited by a browsing admin to exclude the address. okay, so I'm a moron...
it took me until just now to realize that this Version of
KaZaA Lite has a check box that should be checked if
I DO NOT want to become a supermode, as opposed to older versions
that had boxes to be checked if i DID want to become one.

So I guess I am (and alays have been) functionning as a supernode (I think)...
let's try this:

Loomis@KaZaA

also, in case I'm wrong about being a supernode
I'm on this one at the moment

I think you are going to have to tel a select few in private which supernode you are connected to because I reckon that too many people are trying to connect to the supernodes you post here, making them unstable.

About you as a supernode: If when you click on detect supernode, the bottom address (the supernode) is the same as the top address (your address) then you are a supernode, if not then you are connected to somebody else, regardless of whether you opted in or out of being a supernode.

I reccomend you just PM the people on this post with the supernode you are connected to, who are interested in Lockdown, or another better way is if you have MSN messenger, you can tell me your address and if I see you online then Ill connect and download, without the masses also attemting it.
