NOD32 wins it record 30th Virus Bulletin 100% award.

"With its usual admirable performance, NOD32 once again leaves little room for comment and achieves its latest VB 100% award with predictable ease.", commented Virus Bulletin in its February edition granting Eset's antivirus its record 30th Virus Bulletin 100% Award.

A record breaking 28 antivirus products were tested on Windows NT and NOD32 was one of only 4 that achieved a clean sweep detecting all the viruses in all the test sets in both on-demand and on-access tests without any false alarms.

With the exception of Symantec, none of the big "brand names" made the grade with 100% detection in all test sets this time around, missing viruses in either on-demand or on-access scanning and sometimes both.

Below is a list of other antivirus products tested and the amount of viruses each missed in the tests !

Authentium Command - 9
CA eTrust Antivirus - 35
CA Vet Anti-Virus - 12
Frisk F-Prot - 19
F-Secure - 7
Grisoft AVG - 1113
Kaspersky - 2
McAfee VirusScan - 8
Norman Virus Control - 383
Sophos Anti-Virus - 46
UNA UNA Pro - 32558

What were the other two to make the grade, besides NOD32 & Symantec? :)

LOL.
I have heard so much bullshit about how Norton is crap and AVG rawks, yet the Norton/Symantec engine caught them all - performing better than my current favourite Kaspersky - while AVG is proved to suck cawk in a royal manner.
Perhaps these people could STFU now.

I don't think these tests are right...!!! NOD32 always misses shit when I use it and AVG always picks it up... The people running these tests are morons

Meh, AVG has it's strengths, it's not useless.

Best thing IMO is to use a couple, only one to do the active scanning tho'

One av per os in a dualboot/multiboot system, or two on a single os.

Norton and avg work together I think, I know you can run AVG and KAV on the same os.
And I know from experience that avg caught things kav didn't, and vice versa.

I'm never using Norton again, as it fuxored all kinds of things for me tho', but symantech corp works better, so I can still use the engine.

Its funny I'm a Symantec corp. fan . But I rairly see a link or hash for NOD32 . Is it worth hunting down and trying ? I respect many members thoughts on this topic. I see that many use this program , and I should probably try it. I guess if it aint broke don't fix it.............. but I may be missing something.
