View Full Version : I was told yesterday...

...by a person who wouldn't know anyway, that I have no sense of humor.

This person is of no moment to me, yet I am bothered by his statement.

He always wants to tell me a joke in the worst way, then unfailingly proceeds to do just that.

I cannot laugh at a poorly told joke, no matter how good it is.

I told him that I could hone his joke-telling ability had he not made his untoward comment, and sent him on his way.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't say you don't have a sense of humour j2k4 - Just that you don't seem to like to use it as often as others. ;)

Then again, with the number of lounge lizards with a lot (perhaps excessive) of bubbliness, sometimes it's a little refreshing to have someone who's critical :D

Then again, a shitely-executed joke is just that - Shite :(

EDIT: Corrected name and am no longer drinking...at least for the next 2 weeks ;)

See when god gives a sign no one appreciates it , so this is why when you folk pray asking god for a sign that you should do something, I never give it ! *sulks*

You have a very well developed sense of humor, J2. :D

Your post reminds me of a story:

A guy was convicted of a crime and sent to prison. After settling into his cell, he heard somebody yell out '65'. The whole cell block broke out in laughter.

Another inmate yells out '23'. Again, the whole cell block broke out in laughter.

This trend goes on for an hour or two. Eventually an inmate yells out '37'. Total silence. No one laughed.

The new convict asked his cell mate what was going on? Why did everyone laugh at certain numbers but not this one?

His cell mate told him that everyone had all these jokes memorized, and just used numbers in the telling of them.

The new convict asked why nobody laughed when the number '37' was yelled.

The cellmate answered 'Well, some people can tell jokes, and some can't.'

Sounds like you're a joke snob.

But then again, if someone is trying to make a point, no matter how valid, the quality of said point is detracted from by poor spelling, grammar and a deficient vocabulary.

37, indeed.

Perhaps you should file a suit against the doctor that removed your funny bone, If the lawyer asks if you are serious you can look him in the eyes and say honestly.... "i have no sense of humor, how could this be a joke"

It appears I have no sense of humour either. I find this shocking

I''ll have you know some people consider me quite the wag.

I'm sure they said I was a total wag.

It's the impression I got-about both of us, I mean.

Witty wags, we are.

Jolly japesters both, I would have thought.

I'm afraid that casting our pearls of hilarity before the off-spring of vagabonds, farm workers and costermongers is simply a waste of our talent.

Just so-

Two so bloated by talent as we shouldn't have to bother with the hoi polloi.

The mere thought of playing to the punters sickens me.

Yet....here we are. :P

BTW-did you see that lame-o cartoon vid posted?

Memorable Quotes from
Along Came Polly (2004)

Sandy Lyle: Reuben, I'm in a situation here. We have to leave now.
Reuben Feffer: No. Can we stay a couple more minutes?
Sandy Lyle: Dude, no. This is serious. I just sharted.
Reuben Feffer: I don't know what that means.
Sandy Lyle: I tried to fart and a little shit came out. I just sharted. Now let's go.
Reuben Feffer: You're the most disgusting person I've ever met in my life.

Most of the humor I attempt here is only for people who have a bit of history and can pick up oblique references to other posts. Most of the humor I post is strictly to make myself laugh.

Too late Mister Illumination, you cast your die already.

I demand a reroll - I got snake eyes FFS :shifty:

(Though how I managed it with one die I have no idea  )

Humour is one of those tricky things that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.

I find both JPaul and J2 funny and with tongue firmly in cheek. Of course I may simply be misunderstanding them :)

JPaul, that impudent young Lilmiss compared thee and me to the two old guys in the Muppets. The impertinence!
