View Full Version : What do you know about "Media Portal"?
Stumbled over this while searching for tweaks:
http://mediaportal.sourceforge.net/
Media Portal turns your PC in a very advanced Multi MediaCenter / HTPC.
It allows you to listen to your favorite music & radio, watch your video's and DVD's, view, schedule and record live TV and much more. You get Media Portal for free/nothing/nada/noppes and best of all it is opensource. This means anyone can help developing Media Portal or tweak it for their own needs!
Anybody use it?

Oy.
It IS large.
It would appear to emulate XP Media Edition a bit, eh?
It also has that look that screams " ad-and-spyware vulnerable" if you know what I mean, though I'm sure my imagination is running wild.
Thanks for poking around, Vargas-I await your report with 'bated breath. :)

i think it gets all info and files from the web.
it's kinda like http://www.tvtad.net/index.php?p=faq for TV shows
http://www.ipodder.org/whatIsIpodder for talkradio
http://streamripper.sourceforge.net/sr32/ for music, plus a picture manager, weather, and whatever else rolled into one
thats why i said "kinda looks like i good program for the non-techno savy home users" (techno savy users have better ways to manage their files)
but who knows since no one here tried it, and posted a review
Some on-line reviews...

Just tried it.
It's not bad...would be kool to use on a computer where it's only use was for music, movies, pics, etc.
Might try it a bit more next time I bring teh computer downstairs to watch some movies.
